6th to 12th September 1999 (Week 36)

This Week is under the Motto "From the Rainforest to the Reef ".
This weeks first excursion has brought us to the Mossman Gorge, north of Cairns. Here you can go for a swim, a guided walk with an aboriginal guide or along a 2 hour rainforest walk.
Our next endeavour was a snorkeling trip. We choose to go to Green Island. The snorkeling starting of the Island was a little hampered by the fact that we had a low tide, therefore really not to spectacular. In the afternoon we were brought out to the outer bounds of the Island for a snorkel. Here we found an abundance of different corals and fish. Due to the sunlight, everything shone in fantastic colors. The underwater pictures were first taken by one of these cheap Fuji QuickSnap cameras, then the film processed and afterwards i took pictures of the pictures with the digital camera. Not perfect, but it gives an idea.
