Part II 13th to 19th September 1999 (Week 37)

In the next 4 days we made numerous Excursions in and around Cooktown. Cooktown is a small but absolutely beautifully situated Township. Places of interest are the Grassy Hill with beautiful views ofthe surroundings, James Cook Museum, Very nice Beaches either reachable via numerous walking paths or obviously as well by car.
The most impressive expirience were the coloured sands which are located some 70 km further to the north of cooktown. They are located along a very beautiful and quiet beach.

Along the Beach differently coloured sands can be found with colors from white, grey, dark grey, brown, yellow, red up to black.


Keatings Lagoon is a pond covered by water lilies. Magpie Geese and Ducks which find an abundance of Food in this Lagoon.
